Alabama

Alabama is a new state data partner!

We are excited to be working with the state of Alabama this year. Under ACT's data partnership agreement with the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), the agency provides data on the Alabama Reading and Mathematics Test (ARMT), the Alabama Science Assessment (ASA), and the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE). This information is used to identify and recognize higher performing schools in the state annually, based on the most recent three years of performance on value-added growth and on the percentage of students reaching advanced academic standards.

In addition, test scores in Grade 7 are linked to EXPLORE scores, and this link is used to identify College and Career Readiness Targets in Grades 3–7. This information is then used to produce College and Career Readiness Charts for Alabama public schools.

The Alabama state assessment data will be available in early 2013, at which time ACT will conduct the analysis and release the 2012 NCEA Higher Performing Schools List for the state, as well as the College and Career Readiness Targets.  Please check back with us in the coming weeks.
