With the recent unveiling of common state academic standards for the nation, the Common Core State Standards Initiative takes another step closer to achieving its mission of providing "a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them."
The National Center for Educational Achievement joined by Scott Montgomery, Assistant Vice President of ACT, Inc.--one of the leading organizations in drafting the Standards--will provide updates and insights into the progress of the current initiative as well as discuss the implications of national standards on our K-12 systems.
In this 90-minute session, we will discuss the following:
- What is the Common Core State Standards Initiative and what do these Standards look like?
- What is the impact on our K-12 educational systems if these Standards are adopted nation-wide?
- What do these implications look like at the state, district, school, and classroom level?
Join us as we delve deeper into this current reform.
